Sunday Selections

Back to Sunday Selections again, which is always fun! This week my images are from a Buddhist mountain village in China called Wutai Shan. One day, when exploring the temples, we stumbled upon the preparations for a festival. What amazed me were the repetitions; candles and peaches laid out in rows, and flowers and mushrooms lying to dry on the ground.

  1. Wow the patterns in these photos are very nice. what was the significance of the peaches? Were they an offering or did you all get to eat them later?

  2. It's still a mystery to me as we only got to see the preparations. But there was a lot of food piled up and I assume it was an offering.

  8. Those are the most amazing photographs and how wonderful for you to stumble across the preparations for such an important event in their lives. Francesca your photos are perfectly composed. My favourite is the top one, but each one is just perfect in its colour and harmony. Well done girl!
